Valencia romantic getaway
I have always been sure of what my choice for a romantic getaway in Valencia would be: Casa Rural El Somni. Among its apartments, El Madroño is cute and ideal for couples, better than a hotel suite. It features a spacious shower for the two of you as well as bathrobes and other bathroom amenities.
We spent some wonderful, intimate days there, surrounded by the peace and quiet of the place. During our romantic getaway, we strolled while losing track of time, hiked, and got lost in nature. One night, we drove down to Barx and ate some delicious charcoal-grilled meat in one of the numerous restaurants in the town. Then, back in the house, we enjoyed ourselves in the chill-out area and gazed at the stars from the lookout terrace in a way that only the darkness of the countryside can reveal, which can never be appreciated in the cities.
Another day, we drove to Gandia, which is only 15 minutes away from the house, and we visited both the famous palace of the House of Borgia and the Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria of Gandia, better known as ‘La Seu’. The historic pedestrian-only town center is full of stores to go shopping. At night, we had dinner at one of the cozy welcoming restaurants in the town, and then we went out to have a drink at the beach and to dance, since Gandia is one of the liveliest places on the eastern Spanish coast.
Rounding off our romantic getaway in Valencia, we spent our last night in the apartment, ordered food in town, and took it home. Afterwards, we watched a movie on the sofa under a cozy blanket. The final touch to some unforgettable days.
